Founded by two former architects Mei-Lan Tan and Victor Lefebvre, this Oakland-based interiors company just launched its first line of products. No two pieces are the same, from the stunning bowls to the Bouton soap dish (as shown above), all of which are hand-cast from high quality cement with natural pigments and texture.

At least that’s what I discovered once I switched to a Sonicare in college. No matter how thoroughly I brush with a manual toothbrush, the end result just doesn’t compare. You simply can’t get into all the nooks and crannies of your mouth – especially not in under two minutes – nor can you acquire the same gleaming sheen on your teeth.
I’d been pretty faithful to my same electric toothbrush for years, but when I first came across Goby (named after the fish known as the “dentist of the ocean”), I immediately fell in love with their minimalist design.
It’s great to celebrate Valentine’s Day and love and all, but IMO, it’s gotten increasingly commercial and unromantic these past few years.
Galentine’s Day, on the other hand, is an underrated occasion for embracing sisterhood and girl time – something I’m always game for! So when Kelly Huibregtse (the blogger behind A Side of Sweet) invited me over to her house for an Anthropologie Galentine’s Day brunch, I was thrilled. Even though I was still on my cleanse and couldn’t eat any of the cupcakes or drink any of the champagne, I had so much fun getting better acquainted with this group of lovely San Francisco blogger ladies (check my Instagram post tags to see who else attended)!
